Unexpectedly great. Damn good. Fine dining without trying to be fine dining. The bread, salad, and entree were amazing. The desert is memorable. I absolutely love this restaurant. Will come back when there is a chance. Food orgasmic.

Finally nabbed a reservation just in time for our anniversary. We made it a lavish 4 course meal and our waiter Scott was so professional and informative, helping us enjoy every minute of it. You absolutely cannot skip the bread and butter, and I will be heartbroken if I return and the fried squash blossoms aren’t on the menu. The other standout was the torta di pistachio dessert which took me to another plane of existence with every bite. But honestly, the entire meal was excellent. We never felt rushed and we will definitely be back.

I’ve not made it into the restaurant yet but got tix to the pop up event in Flower Mound last weekend. The food was awesome. The focaccia starter was amazing. As well as the braised beef cheek. Hope to get reso some day at the actual place. Very good food!

My husband Ron found Osteria and wanted to eat there for his birthday; we managed to get a reservation for the day we wanted -- and it did NOT disappoint. The restaurant (a former parsonage on the south side of Denton) is warm and cozy without being claustrophobic; the service (Ben) is outstanding; and the food is off-the-charts delicious. We highly recommend starting with their sourdough focaccia, which was airy and fluffy (and slightly warm, so the butter melted). We then had two appetizers -- pheasant terrine, and roasted beets with sheep's milk ricotta. For our main courses, I had tajarin (similar to fettucine) with wild mushrooms, while Ron had the special: a glazed, pan-seared pork chop on a bed of spaetzle with pancetta, turnip greens, and carmelized cabbage. We finished the evening with desert (chocolate torta barozzi for me and olive oil cake for him). When they found out we were celebrating his birthday, Ben brought out a card signed by the entire staff, which was a lovely touch. Reservations are tough to come by because the restaurant is so small, but we emailed them a couple of weeks ahead of time and said when we wanted to dine there and why. James, the general manager, replied quickly and could accommodate us as long as we could be flexible on time. They do try to keep the flow moving and have guidelines for how long the full experience will take. For two people, it's 90 minutes; we were a few minutes over that but never felt like they were trying to rush us out. We're already planning a return trip!

Where to begin. Olives are good, check. Focaccia was good, check. But the pork special was slap yo mama good. Probably the best pork I've ever had. Hubs tagliatelle was darn good, too. The bomboloni were scrumptious. Super impressed. Surprised they aren't Michelin recommended.

Delicious and beautiful food! Most (if not everything) is made in-house using locally-sourced products. Taylor was a fantastic server. Highly recommend the focaccia, ziti, house special, and the gelato flight!

We had a lovely experience and the menu reflects our options as on Thursday Oct28th. Our waitress Allison was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and the tastes of diners. We ordered the following Starters: Salumi Misti and Porchetta open faced sandwich. Primi: Roast pork special on a bed of Spaetzle and spinach, topped with fruit and mustard($48) As well as the Tagliolini. The stars were the Porchetta sandwich for its balance of bitter greens and that divine fig/pear jam with salty pork on crusty bread. The second was the Taglioni- the depth of flavor from porcini mushrooms was wonderful and so fragrant, and the pasta had the lightest toothy texture while being rich-if given the chance, Id have it daily. I didnt enjoy the pork roast( but thats personal preference)1. because of the smoked flavor and 2. The flavors/textures of the pasta easily outshine everything else! We didnt even make it to dessert as everything else was so filling but next time- I would likely order one of each pasta and wear loose/casual clothes! As soon as we can snag another seat, we will be back!!!!

In the heart of Denton, TX, we discovered Osteria Il Muro—an intimate restaurant with only 28–30 seats. We were warmly welcomed, and the wait time was under 10 minutes. Taylor, our server, greeted us and explained the restaurant’s concept and how the menu flows harmoniously, emphasizing that every dish is crafted entirely from scratch. Menu: Our selection began with the rosemary focaccia and house-made butter. We followed with six oysters—the balance of blood orange and garlic offered an interesting and refreshing combination. We would have enjoyed a touch more heat to complement the flavors. Main Courses: The Oxtail Genovese featured perfectly al dente pasta and incredibly tender meat. A well-balanced dish. The star of the evening was the special: a short rib cooked sous vide for 24 hours. The red wine reduction and mushroom purée created a flawless pairing. Both dishes were served in shareable portions, inviting us to compare flavors and encouraging lively conversation at the table. Dolce: We chose the gelato flight with three flavors—limoncello biscotti, sauvignon blanc, and chocolate peppermint. Overall, Osteria il Muro offers an intimate experience in a lively and refreshing atmosphere. Service is top-tier from the moment you arrive. Culinary-wise, it’s a place that deserves recognition as one of the best for its innovative concept. We will definitely return to enjoy more of their creations. Although keeping an eye on the reservation system (Tock) is necessary, the visit is worth every penny.

Love going here. The food is amazing and the people are even better. They're very friendly and very knowledgeable about everything. They'll give you a run down and help you get the perfect meal for you. I've also been to 2 wine dinners and those are amazing. If you have a chance you should attend one.

We came here to celebrate my birthday and had such a great experience. The restaurant felt cozy and inviting, the service was spot-on, and the food came out at the perfect pace. Nothing felt rushed. The menu felt fresh and different from other Italian places. The small plates were perfect for sharing, and the entrées were generous. I didn’t leave a single bite behind. Dessert was also a highlight, and both we tried were totally worth it. I’d happily come back again.
